Collection SummaryThis collection documents the original survey and construction of the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park from 1924 to 1934. Reports, photos, and maps from the Glacier National Park Archives provide insight into the challenging conditions faced by the engineers and contractors who worked on this landmark project. Additional records will be added that document the construction of the east side of the road (1931-1932).
