Collection SummaryThe Seventh Ferrying group of the Air Transport Command primary objective was to ferry Lend-Lease aircraft and supplies from Great Falls, MT to Fairbanks, Alaska. From there the planes were flown by Russian pilots to the Eastern Front and used to fight Hitler’s invading forces during World War II. In June 1942, the Seventh Ferrying Group moved their headquarters from Seattle, WA to Great Falls, MT. Almost 8,000 aircraft were delivered by the 7th over 3 years.
