DescriptionExchange between William R. Harper, President of the University of Chicago, and Thomas J. Ryan, Acting Secretary of the Interior. Harper requests that 8 to 10 students be granted permission to study and collect specimens at Park under the supervision of Professors Salisbury and Iddings. Harper also notes that Iddings worked in Park for seven seasons with Geological Survey under supervision of Mr. Arnold Hague. Ryan returns note informing Harper that such applications should be made to Capt. James B. Erwin, Acting Superintendent, and encloses Park rules and regulations.
