DescriptionExchange between George Wakefield, proprietor of The Albermarle Hotel, Thomas H. Carter, U.S. Senate, E.A. Hitchcock, Secretary of the Interior, and the Acting Superintendent regarding Wakefield's request to conduct camping parties and the use of 5 wagons for this purpose. Wakefield states in application letter that parties will be sent out with guides. Carter forwards the request to the Secretary of the Interior. Hitchcock then forwards to the request to the Acting Superintendent with a favorable recommendation for Wakefield, and also states that Wakefield will receive a personal camping license so he is to personally conduct parties as is the general rule and no exceptions can be made for him. The Acting Superintendent clarifies that this does not mean Wakefield is required to accompany every single wagon party.
