DescriptionView of a crane removing boulders from a Great Northern train and placing them along the upstream face of Fort Peck Dam. Three men visible on one of the train's flatcars to the right. From verso of print: 'To protect the upstream face of the dam from wave wash, it was first carpeted with a heavy layer of field stone, on top of which were placed the huge boulders shown in this picture. The reservoir is in the background.'
