DescriptionInvitation to attend the opening of St. Peter Hospital cultural room (a place where people can smudge if they want to to help with their healing) in Helena on September 16, 2015. Smudging is an important part of healing for many tribal groups and is often done at the beginning of ceremonies and other cultural activities. the Helena Indian community, including Louise Fischer and Dan Pocha, worked with St. Peters to create a dedicated smudge room. Note that not all tribes smudge.
