DescriptionPhotographs of the Socony-Mobil Office Building located in Billings, Montana, that show the construction of the building as well as finished interior and exterior shots. The building was a state-of-the-art structure when it was built in 1954, with many amenities easily taken for granted in the modern era, such as: air-conditioning, a modern ventilation system, paint "zoning" with cooling/warming effects on office interiors, and an intra-office telephone system. Construction began in February, 1954, and 14 months later in May, 1955, the building opened for business.
