Hitchcock, to the Acting Superintendent of Yellowstone, John Pitcher, approved an outlined budget for the spending of $5000 on the protection of the park. The budget lays out positions and supplies the money is to be spent on, as well as the names of the employees in those positions. The letter details the payment of $2500 to be used to survey the eastern border of Yellowstone.
