DescriptionThis letter from the Acting Secretary of the Interior, Thomas Ryan, to the Acting Superintendent of Yellowstone, John Pitcher, granted permission to the Yellowstone Lake Boat Company to cut two hundred and fifty trees. The trees were for preparing a place for landing and protecting a new steamboat. Ryan told Pitcher to supervise the tree cutting.
