DescriptionView of the exterior of a log building in Bannack, Montana, with three men standing outside. This is reported to be the home of Territorial Governor Sidney Edgerton and family. The printed text on verso reads, 'First Governor's Residence. This picture was taken in March, 1908. The three men standing in front of the building, are Bannack Pioneers. The gun held by the man on the right, belonged to the notorious Plummer [Henry Plummer], Sheriff and 'Road Agent.'' Copyright 1908 by Tribune Pub. Co. Dillon, Mont. Verso has handwritten message that mentions looking over mines for 'Helena Brokers,' and is signed by Mason, and addressed to Mrs. A. L. Mason, Pony, Montana. Stamp affixed with Benjamin Franklin for 1 cent (upside down).
