DescriptionThe Shelby Book Club began on January 16, 1935, in Shelby, MT when a group of eight local ladies gathered to form a literary club. Their vision has not changed over the many years: A group of women who love to read and to share what they have read with friends who find pleasure in being together to listen.
The Shelby Book Club continues to meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month during the regular school year, with summers off. Coffee and dessert open every meeting, followed by one member sharing a review of a book of their choice. The book is then discussed over appetizers. Tradition states that each hostess present a simple favor to all attendees.
