DescriptionCongress established this refuge in October 1941 as habitat and breeding ground for migratory birds. The coulee was originally known as Greenman Coulee but became Creedman Coulee when the refuge was established. An earthen dam (now on private property) was built in 1938 by the WPA to provide flow control and irrigation water. The refuge encompasses 80 acres of public land and about 2,650 acres of private easements.Other Name(s)Greenman CouleeContributing InstitutionMontana Historical Society Library and ArchivesGeolocation[1] Elevation2769 ft.CountyHill County
