DescriptionFattig Creek is named for John Fattig, who worked as a miner in Meagher County in 1870. In 1880, he and partners William H. H. Healy and James Carpenter established a trading post at Junction City. The partners also owned a hunting and trapping business at the mouth of Fattig Creek, which they sold to Balch & Bacon in 1882. Fattig and Healy later moved to Fort Belknap to be near the family of Healy’s Gros Ventre wife. Location: Musselshell CountyPersonal NamesFattig, JohnHealy, William H.
