DescriptionThe town of Silesia and nearby Silesia Springs were named by Julius Lehrkind for the Silesia region of central Europe that is now part of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany. Lehrkind, originally from Silesia, started a brewery here about 1900. Charles Buzzetti opened the post office at the junction of the Northern Pacific Railway’s main line and its branch line to Red Lodge and Bridger.Personal NamesLehrkind, JuliusBuzzetti, CharlesOther Name(s)Silesia SpringsContributing InstitutionMontana Historical Society Library and ArchivesGeolocation[1] Elevation3396 ft.
