DescriptionThe Northern Town and Land Company developed Navajo in 1913 when the Bainville to Scobey branch line of the Great Northern Railway arrived. Local residents do not know why railroad officials called this town Navajo; there is no known connection with the southwestern U.S. tribe of the same name.Contributing InstitutionMontana Historical Society Library and ArchivesGeolocation[1] Elevation2430 ft.
