DescriptionPorphyry Peak is on the line between Meagher and Cascade counties at the top of the Showdown Montana ski area. The original fire lookout on the peak was built in 1937 and replaced in 1960. The peak is a small, 50-million-year-old igneous intrusion of porphyritic ores.
