DescriptionThe Mahan and Hoyt Reservoir is named for Archibald Mahon (though the spelling was corrupted) and his brother-in-law, Dr. Mark D. Hoyt, partners in a pharmacy business from about 1898 to 1902. Mahon also served as county surveyor, superintendent of irrigation on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, and state engineer.
