DescriptionThe Great Northern Railway platted the community of Midvale in the 1890s; residents changed the town’s name to Glacier Park in 1913 to end the confusion with the town of Midvale in the southern part of the state. Home to Glacier Park Lodge and the Glacier Park Transportation Company’s garages, the community thrived by providing services for tourists and area residents. The town’s name officially became East Glacier Park in 1949.
