Founded in 1893 as Montana State Normal School, it was known as Western Montana College of Education before joining the University of Montana system.
Some of the photographs are from a publication designed to present high school students, their teachers, and their parents, general information about Western. The collection also contains photographs from an album and loose photographs. All are printed-out paper prints, and most are mounted with Kodak mounts. The album photographs appear to have been arranged and labeled by Walker and show mostly scenes of the campus and campus activities. Subjects include buildings, specific activities (May Fete & the operetta "Pepeta"). There are also photographs of Beaverhead County.; Raymond V.
