DescriptionWagon team of James Ash. Photograph a gift of V.W. Eames. It was reported that a James Ash of Billings and Thomas Runner of Absarokee leased 20,000 acres of grazing land on the Crow Reservation in May of 1903 - See Extensive Sheep Deal Made in Carbon County, Anaconda Standard, May 18, 1903. A James Ash of Billings broke his leg on August 29, 1897 when a horse stepped on his foot. The donor of the photo, V W Eames lived at 123 Clark Avenue in Billings.
