DescriptionToday, I interviewed Barbara Banderob. Barbara spoke about the memories of her father-in-law, Rudolph, (Rudy) Banderob, who was two years old when his parents homesteaded on the Huntley Project. Rudy wrote a book about his memories and in that book he tells about playing with his brothers down in the bottom of a lateral irrigation canal. The boys could hear a gurgling noise that just kept getting louder. They finally climbed out to see where the noise was coming from and found that the main gates had been opened, and the lateral canals were flooding with water. Frank Banderob's father raised Silver Laced Wyandotte chickens and won competitions all over the country. The Banderob family also had a large dairy farm at one time.
