DescriptionWool growers at the B.C. White ranch. B.C. White (1854-1938) is remembered in many ways in Central Montana -- as orator, as a leader in the sheep raising industry, as a Senator in the State Legislature, as a lawyer, as a neighboring rancher and friend. He was responsible for the first herd law and hay-grading act. Governor Robert Smith appointed him Superintendent of the State Reform School at Miles City, a position he held for three years. For eleven years he was a member of the Fergus County High School board.TypeImageGenrephotographsDate1928SubjectWool growersContributing InstitutionLewistown Public LibraryGeographic CoverageBuffalo, MontanaDigital CollectionCentral Montana Historical PhotographsDigital Formatimage/jpgPhoto NumberPHOTO07650
