DescriptionMaiden, Montana came into existence, because of its rich gold discoveries. The first school in Maiden was opened in 1884 in Maegher County with 23 students. On January 10, 1884 there were 40 kids in the district. Seth B. Stevens of Fort Benton was the teacher the first year that Maiden had a school. Fergus County became a county in 1887. At that time Maiden School became school district #3 in the new county.
