Original Plats of Additions to the Townsite of Butte
Details
Collection SummaryThis collection is comprised of original, hand-drawn, hand-colored plats of the additions made to the original Butte town site. They date from the early 1880s. They have been digitized and cataloged. These materials were selected for digitization for their significance within our collection to the history of Butte and Silver Bow County. Butte is a significant Superfund site within the nation's largest National Historic Landmark District. The plats provide context to the NHLD, providing a greater understanding of the Butte Superfund area and documenting the city’s impressive built environment. The original plats, lodes and placers are sought after by professionals, scholars, engineers, geologists, and general researchers.Contributing InstitutionButte-Silver Bow Public Archives
